Road incidents as of 9:30 p.m. on July 3

  • A hit and run happened at the intersection of Soquel Dr and Paul Sweet Rd in the Eastside/Live Oak area. The vehicle involved was left in the bike lane because it couldn’t be driven. The person who reported the incident left the vehicle to call for help, and during that time, the suspect ran away. No one was injured. The incident was reported today.
     
  • A hit and run happened today at 143 Freedom Blvd. in Watsonville / Pajaro. A hunter green Chevrolet Tahoe backed into a company vehicle belonging to SCZ Behavioral Health. No one was injured.
     
  • The southbound lanes of Highway 1 in Capitola/Soquel are facing closures for road excavation. This closure will continue until August 29 at 6:30 a.m.
     

Long-term projects

These have been going on for a while, but are still worth keeping in mind.

  • A single lane on Sims Road and La Madrona Drive, from Brook Knoll Road to 600 La Madrona Drive, is closed for a pipeline project. Traffic control is in place, and the closure is from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day.
     
  • Richmond Drive and Portola Drive at 24th Avenue in Eastside/Live Oak are experiencing road closures due to the Rodeo pump station capacity upgrade project. Expect traffic delays and lane closures, weather permitting. Construction is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with specific work on April 12-13 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
