Santa Cruz County is seeking residents’ opinions on climate conservation spending to shape the Measure Q Vision Plan.

The vision plan will guide investments in water protection, wildfire resilience, public access and nature preservation over the next five years.

Measure Q, known as the Safe Drinking Water, Clean Beaches, Wildfire Risk Reduction and Wildlife Protection Act, passed 2024 with 60% of the vote countywide. The measure is projected to generate over $7 million in funding annually.

Residents can share their ideas for local investments in natural areas through an online survey. The survey is available in both English and Spanish until July 3.

After a series of community meetings across the county this month, Santa Cruz County Parks is hosting a virtual meeting via Zoom next Thursday, June 26, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

The county will post the Zoom link to the June 26 meeting on its website, where you can also find more information on Measure Q.
