Attention bibliophiles and foodies: World-renowned chef and Santa Cruz resident David Kinch is selling his personal culinary library at Bad Animal in Santa Cruz this Saturday and Sunday from noon to 3 p.m. both days. The collection includes hundreds of titles that are old, rare and out of print, many of which are personalized to Kinch by the author or by Kinch himself. New titles will go out both days. The wine bar at Bad Animal will also be open during the sale with its great selection of natural wine and beer.
Speaking of mushrooms, Beauregard Vineyards is hosting a mushroom-themed lunch Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the estate winery in Bonny Doon. Chef and cookbook author Chad Hyatt is preparing a five-course feast that includes a different culinary mushroom in each course, with wine pairings by Beauregard. Tickets are $180 each.
