On Saturday, head to any of The Penny Ice Creamery’s locations in Santa Cruz, Scotts Valley and Aptos for Ice Cream for Breakfast Day. In addition to its menu of seasonal ice cream, milkshakes, floats and sundaes, from 9 a.m. to 1  p.m. the ice cream parlor offers The Goldilocks, a warm, hearty porridge topped with brown sugar, walnuts and cream, and the Breakfast Sundae, with lemon morning cake, a scoop of chocolate almond praline ice cream and chocolate sauce.

On Thursday, Far West Fungi is hosting a business after-hours event at its shop on Laurel Street in downtown Santa Cruz. Guests can make professional connections while sampling mini items from Far West Fungi’s menu, such as mushroom arancini, mushroom chowder and grilled cheese bites. Tickets are $20 for the general public, $10 for members of the Santa Cruz County Chamber of Commerce, which is sponsoring the event.
