Big Basin, California’s oldest state park, now has more than 20 miles of open trails, including fire roads.

Popular hikes include: the 0.6-mile Redwood Loop; the half-mile Opal Creek Loop; and the 4.15-mile Ocean View Summit Loop, among others.

Awards in other categories include: Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park for best camping, Point Lobos State Natural Reserve for best day trips, and Half Moon Bay State Beach for best state beach.
