Cal Fire plans to conduct a 1-acre prescribed burn on Tuesday in the Soquel Demonstration State Forest, near Sulphur Springs Road.
The burn is scheduled between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. To ensure public and firefighter safety, Sulphur Springs Road will be temporarily closed.
This prescribed burn is part of the California Vegetation Treatment Program and aims to reintroduce fire back into the ecosystem. Cal Fire personnel will remain onsite for several days to monitor conditions and ensure that the fire stays within the burn map.
