- The Santa Cruz County Planning Department has received a zoning application for a proposed remodel at 19 3rd Ave. in Davenport. The project would expand the existing 1,033-square-foot, two-bedroom, single-story house by adding 91 square feet to the first floor and converting 382 square feet of attic space into habitable area. Upon completion, the home would become a two-story, 1,506-square-foot single-family dwelling with three bedrooms and three bathrooms. The plans require a Coastal Development Permit and do not include any grading or changes to existing site features such as the detached storage building, patio, concrete path, fruit tree, or fencing. The remodeled house would have a maximum height of 22 feet, 7 inches and cover 19.7% of the lot. Exterior finishes are proposed as fiber cement siding and composition shingle roofing.
