Roadwork is affecting traffic in the region
- The southbound Highway 1 off-ramp at Bay Avenue in Capitola is scheduled to be closed for approximately four months as crews reconstruct the ramp as part of the bus-on-shoulder facility. The closure began on Aug. 2.
- The South Highway 1 on-ramp is facing closures at Park Avenue because of paving work. The closure is scheduled to last until Nov. 19.

- The Santa Cruz County Planning Department is currently accepting public comments on a zoning application for a proposed project at 1461 Soquel San Jose Rd. in the Soquel Planning Area. The project seeks to establish a new two-bedroom short-term rental, where guests could stay for up to 30 days at a time. This rental would not be hosted by the owner during guest stays and requires a Non-Hosted Short-Term Rental Permit. Residents who wish to provide input or express concerns about this proposal must submit their comments to the Planning Department by Sept. 30, as no public comments will be accepted after that date.
