Property code violations

County officials cite property owners for issues such as substandard housing, illegal uses of buildings, property maintenance, abandoned appliances or furniture, construction without permits, and other issues that affect public safety and quality of life.

  • A code violation notice has been issued for the property at 8075 West Zayante Rd., Felton, following unpermitted grading and land clearing activities. According to case number NV25354, the violations involved creating a level pad — reportedly for a tennis court — without securing the necessary permits. Additionally, cuts were made to the hillside at the rear of the parcel, resulting in a condition likely to cause erosion. In response, county officials issued a stop work order and a Notice of Violation (NOV) due to the lack of permits and the potential environmental impacts. The case was subsequently addressed by obtaining a grading permit and installing erosion control measures.
