County officials cite property owners for issues such as substandard housing, illegal uses of buildings, property maintenance, abandoned appliances or furniture, construction without permits, and other issues that affect public safety and quality of life.
- A code violation notice has been issued for the property at 121 Gaffney Way, Scotts Valley, under Code Compliance Case NV25407, processed on Sept. 28. The violation concerns a “front-yard patio enclosure abutting road,” meaning the property owner constructed or enclosed a patio in the front yard directly adjacent to the roadway, which appears to be in violation of building codes—likely due to missing permits or noncompliance with setback or zoning regulations that restrict such structures near the street. In response, the county has issued a “Notice and Order” requiring the property owner to take corrective action.
