Road incidents as of 10:30 a.m. on September 28
- A black plastic Hefty bag was found in the middle of the lane on Highway 1 near the Wilder Ranch State Park Entrance Road in the Bonny Doon/Davenport area. Drivers were swerving and moving into oncoming traffic to avoid it. No vehicles were stopped at the scene. The incident was reported today.
- South Highway 1 at Park Avenue in Capitola and Soquel is facing closures for paving work. The closure will last until Nov. 19.
- A red Jeep hit a deer at Highway 17 S and Sugarloaf Rd in Scotts Valley. No one was hurt. The incident was reported at 9:54 a.m. today.
- There are alternating lane closures on both northbound and southbound Highway 9 at Pool Drive in San Lorenzo Valley because of bridge work. This will continue until April 30, 2027, at 6:59 a.m.
