Property development

• The Santa Cruz County Planning Department has formally approved a zoning application for a residential project at 510 Sea Horse Dr. in La Selva Beach. The approved plans call for a 36-square-foot extension to the third-story deck on the western side of the existing three-story single-family home. The project also includes relocating support posts, replacing both the second- and third-story decks and their railings, and replacing the entry stairway at the front and western sides of the house. All replacement work for the upper deck, entry deck, and stairway will be completed “in kind,” meaning the new structures will match the existing size and configuration, totaling 217 square feet. Additionally, the project will resurface an 80-square-foot cantilevered deck. Because the property is located in the coastal zone, the project required and received a Coastal Development Permit.
