Roadwork is affecting traffic in the region

  • A traffic collision occurred today at the intersection of Werner Rd and CR-G12 involving a 2022 grey Kia K5. Initially reported as reckless driving, it was later updated to a collision with no injuries. The incident happened when another vehicle stopped abruptly, and the driver of that vehicle exited and began yelling.
     
  • A lane on North Highway 1 at Buena Vista Drive is closed for shoulder work. The closure is expected to end at 4:59 a.m. today.
     
  • East SR-129 at Locust Street has alternating lane closures for landscape work. This is expected to end on April 30 at 3:01 p.m.
     
  • The alternating lanes on West SR-129 at Main Street are closed for landscape work. The closure is expected to end at 3:01 p.m. on April 30.
     
  • The alternating lanes on East SR-152 at Holm Road are closed for landscape work. The closure is expected to end on April 30 at 3:01 p.m.
     
  • The alternating lanes on West SR-152 at Freedom Blvd. are closed for landscape work. The closure is expected to end at 3:01 p.m. on April 30.
     
  • An injured deer caused a traffic incident in the southbound lane of Highway 1 near Freedom in Aptos. It was reported at 6:57 a.m. today.
     
  • The alternating lanes on North Highway 1 at 41st Avenue in Capitola/Soquel are closed for a striping operation. The closure is expected to end at 4:59 a.m. on May 5.
     
  • The southbound lanes of Highway 1 in Capitola/Soquel are completely closed for road excavation. The closure is expected to end at 6:30 a.m. on August 29.
     
  • A lane on South Highway 1 at Mar Monte Avenue in Aptos is closed for shoulder work. The closure is expected to end at 5:59 a.m. today.
     
  • Highway 9 in San Lorenzo Valley is closed to one-way traffic near Prospect Avenue for slope repair work. The closure will end today at 3:59 p.m.
     
  • A lane on North Highway 9 at the San Lorenzo River Bridge in San Lorenzo Valley is closed for utility work. The closure is expected to end today at 4:01 p.m.
     
  • A lane on North Highway 17 at Spanish Bit Chapel in Scotts Valley is closed for tree work. The closure will end at 12:01 p.m. tomorrow.
     
  • Long-term projects: Green Valley Road, from Holohan Road to Mesa Verde Road, will have single lane closures from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Expect delays or consider alternate routes. The work is expected to finish by April 30, weather permitting.

  • A person was arrested for a felony bench warrant with no bail. This happened near Riverside Dr & Locust St. in Watsonville at midnight on April 25. (source)
