Roadwork is affecting traffic in the region
- A hit-and-run crash with injuries happened at Hall Road and Hudson Landing Rd in Pajaro at 5:59 a.m. today. At least two vehicles were involved, including a white Honda and another unknown vehicle. One car off the road toward the railroad tracks, possibly under a bridge. There were reports of bruising but no major injuries. A “Share the Road” bicycle sign and post were also damaged. The incident was first reported as a minor crash was upgraded to a hit-and-run with injuries.
- A traffic collision involving up to five vehicles, including a big rig, happened on northbound Highway 1 at Freedom Boulevard in Aptos. Two were reportedly speeding before the crash. Several vehicles had airbags deploy, and at least one had major front-end damage. All vehicles were moved to the right-hand shoulder. Emergency services, including fire and California Highway Patrol, responded to the scene.
