Roadwork may be affecting traffic in the region


  •  A lane on northbound Highway 17 at Beulah Park/La Madrona Drive is closed for tree work. The closure is expected to end today at 1:30 p.m.
     

Restaurant inspections

County officials regularly inspect food facilities to ensure compliance with state laws. Here, Lookout Santa Cruz reports both those who have passed the inspections and those that the county deems to have a “major” issue. The county’s full ongoing report can be accessed here.

  • Jack’s Hamburgers at 202 Lincoln St., Santa Cruz, passed a county health inspection on April 16 with no critical issues.

  • A person was arrested for sending or selling obscene material involving a minor and advanced obscene material involving a minor. The incident happened near 259 Water St., Santa Cruz, at 1 p.m. on April 7. (source)
     
  • A case involving elder or dependent adult abuse, first-degree burglary, assault with force likely to cause great bodily injury, assault with a deadly weapon (not a firearm) and vandalism happened near the 6000 block of Pacific Avenue in Santa Cruz.   • A child was put in danger and someone was physically injured in a domestic situation near the 6000 block of La Madrona Dr. The incident happened at 6 a.m. on April 6. (source)
     
  • A person was arrested for several offenses, including assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, assault, identity theft, vandalism and having stolen property. The incident happened near the 1100 block of Pacific Ave., Santa Cruz, at 2 p.m. on April 9. (source)
     
  • A person assaulted and sprayed a substance on a peace officer and also assaulted a custodial officer. The person was rebooked. The incident happened near 259 Water St., Santa Cruz, at 2 p.m. on April 9. (source)
