Restaurant inspections

County officials regularly inspect food facilities to ensure compliance with state laws. Here, Lookout Santa Cruz reports both those who have passed the inspections and those that the county deems to have a “major” issue. The county’s full ongoing report can be accessed here.

  • Google LLC at 101 Church St., Santa Cruz, passed a county health inspection on April 14 with no critical issues.
     

Community crime report

  • Police reported a felony threat involving someone making criminal threats with the intent to scare or terrorize others. The incident happened near Dubois Street and Harvey West Boulevard in Santa Cruz at 10 a.m. on April 14. (source)
     
  • A person was arrested for having outstanding warrants and giving a false ID to police, which is a misdemeanor. The warrants included failing to appear in court for possession of controlled substances without a prescription, and a felony warrant from outside the area. The incident happened near San Lorenzo River levee and S. River Street in Santa Cruz at 3 p.m. on April 14. (source)
     
  • A case of fraud involving more than $400 was reported. The incident happened near the 200 block of Dakota Avenue, Santa Cruz, at 1 p.m. on April 13. (source)
     
  • A battery incident happened near the 100 block of Alamo Avenue in Santa Cruz at 10 p.m. on April 14. Police spoke with one of the people involved. (source)
     
  • A battery incident happened near the 700 block of Front Street in Santa Cruz at 6 p.m. on April 14. Police interviewed a suspect about the misdemeanor. (source)
     
  • A person was given a citation and released because of a warrant related to battery. The incident happened near Water Street and River Street, Santa Cruz, at 11 p.m. on April 13. (source)
     
  • A man was given a citation and released for having drug paraphernalia, possessing a controlled substance and having an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. The incident happened near the 600 block of River Street, Santa Cruz, at 11 a.m. on April 14. (source)
     
  • A person was given a citation and released because of a felony warrant from another area. This happened near the 200 block of Riverside Avenue, Santa Cruz, at 6 p.m. on April 13. (source)
