Roadwork is affecting traffic in the region

  • One lane on North Highway 9 at Encinal Street is closed for shoulder work. The closure will last until February 28 at 3:01 p.m.
     
  • There is one-way traffic on South Highway 9 at Lorenzo Avenue in San Lorenzo Valley because of emergency work. This is expected to end at 3:59 p.m. on April 1.

  • A grand theft involving money, labor, or property was reported near the 100 Block of Lennox St., Santa Cruz, at 11 a.m. on February 8. (source)
     
  • A business was broken into near the 300 Block of Potrero St., Santa Cruz at 6 p.m. on February 7. (source)
     
  • Someone tried to smuggle a controlled substance into a jail or prison. This happened near 259 Water St., Santa Cruz County, at 5 p.m. on January 19. (source)
     
  • A person was stopped for several driving violations, including driving without a license, driving under the influence of alcohol, making an illegal U-turn, failing to provide proof of insurance, and not having vehicle registration. This happened near the 200 block of Pacific Avenue in Santa Cruz at 8 a.m. on January 18. (source)
     
  • A person was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol near Pacific Ave. & Center St., Santa Cruz at 7 p.m. on February 8. (source)
     
  • A person was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol near the 100 BLOCK of Swanton Boulevard in Santa Cruz at 10 p.m. on January 16. (source)
     
  • A person was sentenced to one year in jail for three counts of driving under the influence with a blood alcohol level of .08 or higher. They turned themselves in and have since been released. The incident happened near 259 WATER Street, Santa Cruz County, at noon on January 16. (source)
