Road incidents as of 9:30 p.m. on May. 1

  • There was a construction-related traffic incident at the intersection of Highway 1 North and Buena Vista in Watsonville/Pajaro. The California Highway Patrol assisted with the situation. It was reported today.
     
  • The alternating lanes on North Highway 1 at 41st Avenue in Capitola/Soquel are closed for a striping operation. The closure is expected to end at 4:59 a.m. on May 5.
     
  • The southbound lanes of Highway 1 in Capitola/Soquel are facing closures for road excavation. This closure will continue until August 29 at 6:30 a.m.
     

Long-term projects

These have been going on for a while, but are still worth keeping in mind.

  • A single lane on Sims Road and La Madrona Drive, from Brook Knoll Road to 600 La Madrona Drive, is closed for a pipeline project. Traffic control is in place, and the closure is from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily.
     
  • Richmond Drive at Portola Drive and 24th Avenue is closed due to the Rodeo pump station capacity upgrade project. Expect traffic delays and lane closures in the area, weather permitting. Construction is scheduled for April 12-13 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day.
     
  • Certain roads in Aptos are closed for the West Cliff Sewer Project. The affected roads are Middlefield Dr (between Seacliff and Cross), Seacliff Dr (between Middlefield and Oakhill), and Margaret & Gertrude Ave. (between Mcgregor and Mar Vista). These roads will be closed daily from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. until May 5.
     
  • A single lane on Soquel Drive, from Cotton Lane to Porter Street in Capitola/Soquel, is closed for the Soquel Village Emergency Sewer Project. The closure started on March 13 and is expected to last until May 9. Work is happening on weeknights only, from 7:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., and switched to night work on March 25.
     
  • Little Basin Road near Big Basin Way in San Lorenzo Valley is undergoing storm damage repair, causing single lane closures and traffic delays. The work is happening from January 16 through May 13, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., weather permitting.
