Encompass Community Services’ interim CEO will assume the role permanently, Santa Cruz County’s largest health and human services nonprofit announced Friday.

Since stepping in to lead Encompass in October, Morrison has overseen a transition period and helped maintain continuity in the organization’s services and stability for its staff, clients and partners, according to a media release. She took the reins after the departure of former CEO Shellee Stopera resigned after just six months.
“Kim has led Encompass with integrity, transparency, and deep care for both our mission and our people,” Elaine Johnson, chair of the Encompass board of trustees, said in the release. “Over the past several months, she has guided the organization through an incredibly challenging time with calm resolve and thoughtful leadership. The Board has full confidence in Kim and is thrilled to formally appoint her as CEO.”
Morrison is a longtime member of the organization and served as chief financial officer. The organization will promote Brendan Wilson and Brittany Hoey to lead Encompass’s financial operations.
