Here they are, nine necessary know-abouts for the week ahead. It’s the spring-in-my-step B9:
- Earth Day and 4/20 on the same day? You think that’s an accident? Downtown Santa Cruz will celebrating both.
- We have such talented and promising young people in Santa Cruz, and so many of them will be showing their stuff at FashionTEENS Santa Cruz, on Friday at the Rio.
- Santa Cruz’s most adventurous performing artists will all come together in “Dance of the Living Composers.”
- Big, bold and soulful. The New Mastersounds celebrate 25 years with a tour stopping at Moe’s Alley.
- Hold onto your socks tightly. Because Santa Cruz Ballet Theatre teams up with Tannery World Dance & Cultural Center dancers are aiming to blow those socks off.
- He’s so much more than Dwight – Rainn Wilson attempts to change the world with his new book, “Soul Boom: Why We Need a Spiritual Revolution.”
- It’s Record Store Day! It’s Record Store Day! It’s Record Store Day.
- This one hits a lot of buttons: Polynesian festival, Hawaiian food, screening of “Chasing Mavericks,” appearance by Frosty Hesson, and it’s free. What’s not to love?
- She’s been on stage since she was a child. The daughter of blues legend Johnny Copeland, Shemekia is now a blues star in her own right.
