Joshua Alfaro, founder of a Salinas-based art nonprofit, was arrested and charged with seven felony counts of child sexual assault, and had brief interactions with the PVUSD community before his contract was terminated, according to Superintendent Heather Contreras.


Roadwork is affecting traffic near you

  • A 40-year-old man was arrested for being drunk in public late at night, around 10 p.m. on June 3, near the 600 block of Bronte Avenue in Watsonville. After his arrest, he was taken to a sobering center in Santa Cruz to recover. (source)
  • There was an incident where someone showed a hidden gun in public and physically attacked another person. This happened at 5 p.m. on June 3, near the 300 Block of Madison St in Watsonville. (source)
  • A 21-year-old man was arrested for trying to escape from the police and for driving without a license. This happened at 4 p.m. on June 3 near the 100 Block of Silver Leaf Dr in Watsonville. After his arrest, he was taken to the county jail. (source)
  • A 45-year-old man was arrested in Watsonville after he was stopped for riding a dirt bike on a public road. The arrest happened because he had an existing warrant for a minor legal issue from another county. This incident took place at 10 a.m. on June 3, near the intersection Freedom B1 and Brennan St. (source)
  • A 37-year-old man was arrested early in the morning at around 2 a.m. on June 3rd after police responded to a disturbance. He was found to be publicly intoxicated and also had an outstanding warrant. This incident took place near the 140 Block of Freedom B1 in Watsonville. (source)
