Community crime report

  • A man was stopped for a traffic equipment violation and was found to have a bench warrant for a felony and misdemeanor. He was also in possession of a controlled substance and resisted an officer. This happened near Hushbeck Ave. & McKenzie Ave. in Watsonville at 1 a.m. on May 1. (source)
     
  • A battery incident occurred involving a victim and a 38-year-old individual. It happened near the 100 block of Beach St. in Watsonville at 3 p.m. on April 30. (source)

Roadwork is affecting traffic in the region

  • Alternating lanes on North Highway 1 at 41st Avenue in Capitola/Soquel are closed for a striping operation. The closure is expected to end at 4:59 a.m. on May 5.
     
  • South Highway 1 in Capitola/Soquel is facing closures for roadway excavation. The closure is expected to end at 6:30 a.m. on August 29.
