Property development

  • The Santa Cruz County Planning Department has formally approved a zoning application on September 26, for the renewal of a permit for a two-bedroom vacation rental at 404 Oceanview Drive in Watsonville. The property is intended for short-term overnight lodging, with stays not exceeding 30 days at a time. Renewal of the vacation rental permit is required for continued operation, and the decision on the application was scheduled for on or after September 9. Residents were able to submit comments on the application until September 8. The renewal process includes a review for any documented violations of the Vacation Rental Ordinance, which could result in the permit being amended or denied. Appeals regarding the decision must be filed within two weeks of the approval date. Any issues related to the vacation rental should be reported to the emergency contact, Kendall & Potter Property Management, Inc. (view application)

  • A permit application has been filed for a project at the intersection of San Andreas Road and Dairy Road in Watsonville, proposing the drilling of a new agricultural well. This new well is intended to replace a nearby well that has been condemned, with no anticipated increase in water use. The property, located south of San Andreas Road and northwest of Dairy Road, already contains active wells and will continue to use the new well for the same agricultural purposes as before. Because the site is within the coastal zone, a Coastal Development Permit is required for the project. (view details)
