He thinks the city’s 50-year vision plan, currently on hold, is shortsighted and as costly as maintaining the road.
Lookout is contributing 10% of new memberships to United Way Santa Cruz County’s Stuff the Bus school supply drive, which provides backpacks full of supplies for local students experiencing homelessness, housing insecurity and other hardships. More than 2,800 local students experienced homelessness during the 2024-25 school year, according to the Santa Cruz County Office of Education.
Right now — thanks to a matching donor — your contribution is being doubled, meaning each new annual membership fills a backpack for an entire student in need.
Every One-for-One membership provides a local teacher with free access to Lookout’s local news coverage.
