Nearly 19,000 in Santa Cruz County, mainly in and around Aptos, were without power Tuesday morning. PG&E spokesperson Stephanie Magallon told Lookout the outage was triggered after crews switched residents to a different source of electricity.

Carmageddon: RTC still facing funding gap for passenger rail environmental work
As the Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Commission’s passenger rail project continues to move forward, the agency still needs to find funding for the project’s environmental analysis.
