Temporary traffic lights, flaggers and one-way traffic patterns will affect stretches of Highway 9 due to construction work that started Monday and will stretch into the fall.

Temporary traffic signals will manage alternating one-way traffic on Highway 9 between Prospect Avenue and Lorenzo Avenue in Boulder Creek and between Hillside Avenue and Old County Road in Ben Lomond as crews repair the edge of the northbound lane. The California Department of Transportation said motorists should expect delays of as much as 10 minutes. Contractor Granite Construction is excavating the area below the northbound lane and building a stone and wire gabion wall to support a section of roadway that was damaged during winter storms. Work is expected to last through the end of September.
