Road incidents as of 9:30 p.m. on August 27
- A vehicle heading south on Highway 1 near Vista Point in Aptos crossed all three lanes from the #1 lane and went off the road. There may have been DUI involved before the crash. It’s not known if anyone was hurt. The incident was reported today.
- 430 5th Ave. in Santa Cruz will be closed on September 2 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. while PG&E replaces a utility pole and an overhead transformer.
- There was a construction-related incident on northbound Highway 1 at Park in Capitola / Soquel. CHP assisted with the situation. The incident was reported today.
- Alba Rd in San Lorenzo Valley will be closed on Friday, August 29 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for tree removal work at 10370, 10885, and 11880 Alba Rd.
Long-term projects
These have been going on for a while, but are still worth keeping in mind.
- PG&E has started work to replace a gas main in the Arroyo and Jolon Drive neighborhood off Green Valley Road in Corralitos / Freedom. Construction is underway and will continue through November 25, with a soft closure in the area.
- A single lane on Soquel Ave. between La Fonda Ave. and State Park will be closed on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for roadside sign installation. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction at times, with intermittent impacts. The closure will continue through August 29.
