The UC Santa Cruz Center for Agroecology’s annual Farm to Fork Benefit Dinner takes place on the UC Santa Cruz Farm and Cowell Hay Barn on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. More than just a dinner, this gathering serves as a vital celebration of the Central Coast’s rich agricultural heritage and a meaningful way to engage with those working to advance sustainable food systems.
The event will begin on the farm with a reception, featuring live music, artisanal appetizers, an educational farm tour, and exceptional local wines. Guests will have the unique opportunity to walk the rows of crops alongside those who tend them. Following the reception, a seasonally-focused, locally-sourced meal will be served family-style, highlighting peak-summer produce from the UCSC Farm alongside ingredients from our regional partners. As the sun sets over the ocean, the celebration moves down to the historic Cowell Hay Barn for dessert, dancing, and music spun by local favorite DJ Sparkle.

This year’s menu, which will include thoughtful vegan and gluten-free options, will be expertly prepared by UC Santa Cruz Catering. Executive Chef Valerie Volpin leads the culinary team, partnering directly with California farms to bring fresh, unfussy, and ingredient-focused dishes to campus. With 20 years of culinary experience, Sous Chef David Baskerville leads the daily execution of UC Santa Cruz Catering, focusing on ingredient-driven cooking that bridges the gap between field and plate.
This annual event uplifts community connection and supports local, sustainable farmers and food producers. By dining together, guests contribute directly to an equitable food system.
“Farm to Fork is far more than a wonderful dinner—it’s an inspiring glimpse into the extraordinary work of the UC Santa Cruz Center for Agroecology. I left with a profound appreciation for its leadership in sustainable agriculture, land stewardship, and preparing the next generation of farmers.” —Vance Landis, past Farm to Fork attendee

The 30-acre UCSC Farm, the oldest certified organic university-run farm in the nation, offers a beautiful, outdoor setting with stunning, panoramic views of the Monterey Bay. With roots stretching back to the early U.S. organic movement of the late ‘60s and early ‘70s, the Center for Agroecology has trained hundreds of aspiring farmers and provided thousands of pounds of organic produce to students in need. Today, the Center remains at the forefront of agroecology, tackling modern challenges like climate resilience and campus food insecurity.
Tickets are $225 each. All proceeds from the evening directly support the Center for Agroecology’s ongoing work to champion future farmers, advance agricultural research, and increase food security at UC Santa Cruz.
Space is limited for this special summer tradition. Learn more and purchase your tickets today by visiting the Registration Page.
