The City of Santa Cruz is celebrating the 40th anniversary of Parks and Recreation Month by holding a variety of events and pop-up activities throughout July.

“From beach volleyball and wharf concerts to summer camps and scenic trails, our Parks and Recreation Department truly is the heart of Santa Cruz,” said Parks and Recreation Supervisor Annalise Bryant.

Activities include:

  • Free community fitness class: Pilates Sculpt on Wednesdays at the Civic Auditorium or London Nelson Community Center.
  • Community events in Santa Cruz facilities: Tuesday Night Live concerts at the Santa Cruz Municipal Wharf, open skate at the Civic Auditorium, tree walks and more.
  • Behind-the-scenes features on the people who keep Santa Cruz parks beautiful and programs running strong.
  • Countywide collaboration at Skypark: Family Fun Day on July 19.
