The 56th Santa Cruz Classic Criterium will take place on Sunday and cause road closures most of the day between downtown Santa Cruz and the Boardwalk.
The multi-lap bike race will run a closed circuit course around the Kaiser Permanente Arena on and north of Beach Hill. It will start and finish on Third Street, also using Front and Spruce streets, and the Laurel Extension along the San Lorenzo River.
The Criterium itself runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. but road closures in the area will last from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Drivers should plan accordingly for nearby traffic delays.
Online registration for the event has closed, but late applicants can register in-person on race day at least 15 minutes before the event. For more information, visit Velo Promo.
